Congressman Tom Price [R-GA] challenged Chairman George Miller
[D-CA] by telling Miller that Speaker Nancy Pelosi [D-CA] told the Demo-
crats in that committee that if they discussed anything from the Demo-
cratic healthcare plan with any Republican they would be shut out of
the room and no longer able to participate in the healthcare dialogue.

Miller interrupted Price and told him it was not true that Pelosi attempted to block Republicans from getting any information at all about the healthcare plan until it was completed, and ready for a vote. Price responded that he would provide the quote for Miller "...from the member of your conference." Price said, "You know this hasn't been a bipartisan effort. You know that. The members on this side of the aisle have been attempting to work productively, positively on this issue. As a physician for over 25 years I've cared for patients who bristled at the notion that the federal government ought to be involved in their healthcare. What you all are planning is to increase drastically the intrusion of the federal government in the practice of medicine...You talk about what your plan does. I'll tell you what it does. It increases the size of government; and it increases the intrusion of government; it increases the taxes on virtually every single America. It kills jobs. It will destroy healthcare in this nation." If you want to hear the rest, click on the image above and hear Tom Price at his very best. I can see why the people in the people in the 6th Congressional District of Georgia reelected Tom for a third time last November...with 69% of the vote.
