In a near party line vote, the Democratically-controlled
Senate Judiciary Committee voted 13-to-6 to confirm Circuit Court Judge
Sonia Sotomayor. Only one Republican, Sen. Lindsey Graham, voted with
the far left. I thought there was only one liberal comic on the Senate
Judicial Committee, but I guess there are two: bucktoothed Al Franken
and brain dead Lindsey Graham. Graham, who knows he's safe in 2010, believes
that when he comes back up for election in 2014, you will have forgotten
this cardinal sin. South Carolina, mark your calendars. And, if you can't
wait, you can always recall him and put his Senate seat on the ballot
next November. There aren't enough Latinos in South Carolina to keep him
in office. Oops...the Hispanic vote in South Carolina, like just about
everywhere else, vote Democratic. The Democrats, after all, control the
welfare wand.
Graham begins by saying
the path of least resistance for him would be to vote "no."
Had he been smart, he would have. It wouldn't matter much on the outcome
of the vote in the Judiciary Committee. The vote was going to be 13-to-6
or a 12-to-7. Graham talked like he thought he represents all of the people
of the United States and not just his South Carolina constituents who
voted for him. He seemed to be suggesting that since the people voted
for Obama, and Obama picked Sotomayor, he was obligated to vote for her.
Maybe when he comes up for reelection in South Carolina the liberal voters
in New York, California, Massachusetts and New Jersey will flock to South
Carolina to vote for him. Let's make Nov. 4, 2014 "Freedom From
Lindsey Graham Day."
